Privacy Policy

Last updated: 20 May 2025

1. Who we are

Lanternfox operates at lanternfox.blog, with our base at 315 Charoen Krung Road, Bang Rak, Bangkok 10500. We curate small-group local experiences — market cooking workshops, guided old-town walks, and beginner photography sessions — and connect visitors with neighbourhood hosts. If you have questions about how we handle your information, write to [email protected] or call +66 2 663 4179.

2. What information we collect

We collect only what is needed to respond to your booking enquiry and operate the site:

  • Contact form fields: first name, last name (optional), email address, phone number (optional), and a free-text message describing your preferred experience and date.
  • Usage data: standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, time of visit). This data is aggregated and not linked back to individuals.
  • Cookies and tracking technologies: see Section 5 and our Cookie Policy for full details.

We do not collect payment card data directly; any future payment processing would be handled by a third-party processor with its own privacy obligations.

3. How we use your information

The information you submit is used to:

  • Respond to your booking enquiry and confirm session details with the relevant host.
  • Communicate any changes to the session you have booked (time, meeting point, cancellation).
  • Improve our listings and the overall website experience using anonymised usage data.
  • Fulfil any legal or regulatory obligations that apply to us.

We do not use your contact details for broad marketing campaigns without your consent.

4. Legal basis for processing

We handle your information in accordance with applicable local data-protection law in Thailand. The main grounds we rely on are:

  • Contract / pre-contractual steps: processing your enquiry so we can confirm a booking is a step you request before a service agreement.
  • Legitimate interests: operating a functional, secure website and responding to genuine enquiries.
  • Consent: for any optional cookies you agree to in the cookie preference panel.

5. Cookies and tracking

We use cookies to keep the site working and, with your permission, to understand how it is used and to support advertising. The categories are Essential, Performance/Analytics, and Advertising. You can review and change your preferences at any time using the cookie panel at the bottom-left of the screen, or by visiting our Cookie Policy.

6. Third parties and processors

We use a small number of third-party tools to run the site and measure its performance:

  • Web analytics: an analytics platform that processes aggregated, anonymised visitor statistics. No personally identifiable data is shared with them beyond standard server metadata.
  • Advertising platforms: pixel-based tools may be active if you accept advertising cookies. These platforms have their own privacy policies.
  • Hosting and infrastructure: our site is hosted on servers that process data on our behalf under contractual data-protection obligations.

We do not sell your personal information to any third party.

7. How long we keep your data

Enquiry data (name, email, phone, message) is retained for as long as necessary to fulfil the booking and resolve any follow-up questions — typically up to 24 months after the session date. Anonymised server logs are retained for up to 12 months. You can request earlier deletion; see Section 8.

8. Your rights

Under applicable local data-protection law, you may have the right to:

  • Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Request deletion of your personal information where it is no longer needed.
  • Withdraw consent for optional cookies at any time via the cookie preference panel.
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interests in specific circumstances.

To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will respond within a reasonable period in accordance with applicable law.

9. Data security

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect the information you send us — including encrypted transmission (HTTPS) and access controls on our systems. No method of transmission over the internet is entirely without risk, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we aim to handle your data with care.

10. Children

Our experiences and this website are not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, please get in touch and we will remove it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "last updated" date at the top. For significant changes, we'll make an effort to notify users directly. Continuing to use the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
